Challenge
Heiniger Australia’s cast aluminium mould from a previous supplier had been badly damaged and was no longer usable. Following the advice they were given, Heiniger Australia invested in an entirely new replacement mould. This turned out to be an expensive and disappointing investment as it did not function to the required specifications and quality that they demanded.
In 2007, when Heiniger Australia was in urgent need of a parts supplier who could produce quality products on an ongoing basis, they approached Alliance Moulding.
Solution
After taking on the challenge, we determined the new cast mould would never work properly and, instead, took on the task of repairing the original damaged mould. The rework included reshaping and refinish the mould both inside and out, eventually making the mould come together as one. The moulding itself was complex and brought about its own challenges, but we soon had a product that Heiniger Australia could use to produce products that meet their highest standards.
Outcome
The refurbished mould we rebuilt has been in service with Alliance Moulding for over 13 years, and to date, continues to produce thousands of parts for Heiniger.
Care and Maintenance
Moulds are an expensive investment, and we take the care and maintenance of the moulds very seriously. Periodic maintenance and careful use mean moulds can function correctly for a more extended period. Our practices show that we care about the mould, the quality of the moulded products and everyone involved in the journey.
